The RN plays a critical role in our neurosurgery clinic, focused on supporting perioperative care, coordinating communication, educating patients, and helping to offload providers. The RN serves as a clinical bridge between patients, MAs, APPs, and surgeons to ensure high-quality, consistent care.

The Registered Nurse Specialty functions under the direction of the Office Manager and/or Physician and is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age-appropriate and culturally aware needs. The nurse addresses the patient/family's biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs. The nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care in complex situations, coordination of patient care activities, staff development, and professional self-development. The nurse is able to independently perform job functions.

Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated
Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia Required ACLS certification may be required for some settings within 180 Days Required
Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year of direct patient care in an acute care setting Preferred
Required Minimum Skills: Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Inter- and intra-departmental coordination of patient care activities. Delegation skills are required. Ability to multi-task essential. Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations is essential. Strong detail orientation is required. Computer skills required. Personal time management skills are required. Compliance with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required. Demonstrates knowledge of and practices within parameters outlined in the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act. Assessment skills required. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude.
