- The Maternal Outreach Educator will provide education and outreach to hospitals in the Augusta perinatal region and Wellstar MCG Health.
- Responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, developing educational materials, and teaching scheduled educational sessions.
- The role involves conducting annual site visits to hospitals and reviewing maternal inpatients for transport considerations.
- The educator will gather and report data for maternal initiatives and participate in relevant webinars and meetings.
- The position requires coordination with the Neonatal Outreach Educator to create and update educational materials.

- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and possess a multi-state compact RN license or a single state RN license.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a level II or III Labor and Delivery setting is required, with three years of perinatal teaching preferred.
- Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves speaking effectively in front of groups and conducting educational sessions.
- The candidate should be organized and possess excellent oral and written skills to maintain accurate data logs and reports.
- The ability to collaborate with various healthcare facilities and act as a liaison between hospitals and the Department of Public Health is crucial.
