The Information Technology (IT) Internal Auditor I provides valuable insights to the IT business to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. This position performs audits over IT systems, platforms, and operations to assess accuracy, completeness, effectiveness and compliance with Wellstar policies and applicable standards, laws and regulations. The IT Auditor is responsible for planning, drafting the audit work program, coordinating the audit, documenting current procedures, and identifying risks and controls associated with the business objectives of the area being audited. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the core responsibilities satisfactorily and be capable of working independently.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Audit Execution - Assists in the coordination, planning and execution of audits including identification of key risks and controls, conducting testing, identifying root causes of audit issues and preparing an audit report.
  • Performs and audits activities in accordance with professional standards and Wellstar's audit methodology.
  • Performs issue action plan follow-up.
  • Develop working knowledge of laws and industry guidance for establishing, testing, and reporting on assigned audits.
  • Participates in department goals, activities and pursues self-development of skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Computer Science or Bachelors Management Information Systems or Bachelors Information Technology

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

CISA - Cert Information Sys Auditor within 2 years Required

Required Minimum Experience:

Less than 1 year Auditing Intern Preferred

Required Minimum Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS Office and Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAATs)
  • High Knowledge of risk assessment, internal audit standards, processes related to IT operations, data, network infrastructure and control frameworks.
  • High Ability to think critically, display professionalism, communicate effectively, and adapt to change.
  • High Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization in a positive manner to influence and build effective relationships and meet shared objectives.
  • Medium Good written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • High Ability to focus and utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • High Must be a team player and show respect for auditors at every level.
  • High Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
