Under the supervision of an Audiologist, the Audiology Extern will be responsible for diagnostic testing, AABR, OAE, cochlear implant evaluations/programming, BAHA evaluations/programming, hearing aid evaluations/fitting/follow ups, ABR (sedated and non-sedated), VNG testing, hearing aid walk-in clinic, and any other testing and/or procedures as indicated by the Audiologists.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Performs diagnostic testing on pediatrics and/or adults.
  • Proficient in hearing aid evaluations, programming, and checks.
  • Assists within cochlear implant and BAHA evaluations, activations, and follow ups.
  • Performs automated ABR (AABR) and ABR (sedated and non-sedated) testing with the assistance of the Audiologist when needed.
  • Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills in regards to equipment/order processing and making appropriate suggestions for follow up with Audiologists.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

Bachelors Degree

Required Minimum Experience:

Must be actively enrolled and have successfully completed at least 2 years in Graduate Audiology Doctoral Program Required

Required Minimum Skills:

Capability to perform diagnostic audiological evaluations. Basic knowledge of hearing aids. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
