Sr. Credit Analyst

The Sr. Credit Analyst is responsible for actively managing and minimizing credit risks related to the Bank's consumer and small business lending portfolios. The Sr. Credit Analyst is experienced in credit analysis, risk management, monitoring portfolio performance, reporting key financial metrics, and can offer innovative ideas to foster incremental growth for the Bank.

If located in Utah, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Analysis: Monitor existing credit portfolios to identify potential risks and opportunities. Present findings and recommendations based on data analysis
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Create detailed reports on credit risk metrics, portfolio performance, and trends for management. Develop dashboards to enhance data visualization and accessibility to enable quicker decision-making and more informed insights into business performance
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate portfolio performance, risk assessments, watch list monitoring, and market trends to senior management, credit committee, and other stakeholders
  • Collaboration: Work closely with leaders from other departments, including credit underwriting, credit administration, loan officers, loan closing/servicing, loan accounting, and loan reporting to ensure alignment and improve efficiencies across interconnected processes
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensure that portfolio management processes and decisions comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Stay updated on changes in the regulatory environment that may impact underwriting criteria to maintain compliance

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience analyzing consumer and/or small business credit portfolios
  • 3+ years of experience with financial analysis tools (e.g., Excel)
  • 3+ years of experience querying large databases and statistical software (e.g., SQL)
  • 3+ years of experience with Data Visualization & Interactive Dashboard tools (e.g., PowerBI or Tableau)
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills to interpret data and assess credit risk effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with stakeholders
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data to inform systemic underwriting decisions and enhance risk assessment processes
  • Familiarity with banking regulations, credit policies, and economic factors impacting credit risk

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience analyzing consumer and/or small business credit performance
  • 5+ years of experience with financial analysis tools (e.g., Excel)
  • 5+ years of experience querying large databases and statistical software (e.g., SQL)
  • 5+ years of experience with Data Visualization & Interactive Dashboard tools (e.g., PowerBI or Tableau)
  • 3+ years of experience with advanced data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., R or Python) for deeper insights

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
