You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support a portfolio of UMR clients for high-touch actuarial services
- Perform reserving work for medical and dental claims
- Forecast total cost of medical, dental, and vision benefits inclusive of claims, expenses, rebates, fees etc. to set premium equivalent rates
- Analyze detailed claim level data necessary for case reserving, forecasting of outliers, and high cost reporting
- Work in Excel and VBA to maintain/develop/enhance actuarial modeling and reporting
- Communicate results effectively with business partners

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Math, or related quantitative field
- On the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
- 2+ years of experience in Actuarial, Healthcare Economics, or similar role
- Ability to manage work and deliverables with strict adherence to timelines associated with client deadlines
- Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, concisely, and persuasively
- Proven solid collaboration and team skills
- Interest in summarizing member medical histories through detailed claims analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with forecasting, reserving, or stop loss
- Experience with VBA, SAS, or R
- Comfortable using actuarial judgment to navigate situations with limited or uncertain information
- Ability to use emerging medical claims data to estimate a member's total plan year claim spend
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
