As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of analyzing claims trends and driving data-informed decisions that directly influence pricing, planning, and performance across the West region.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Drive Forecast Accuracy - Partner with the national forecast team and cross-functional stakeholders to enhance the accuracy of the commercial claims forecasts
  2. Communicate Insights That Matter - Present forecast results, assumptions, and market-level trend drivers to health plans, actuarial pricing teams, and other internal stakeholders in a clear and compelling way
  3. Leverage Data for Strategic Advantage - Use advanced data systems and technologies to analyze claims and membership data, uncovering key insights that influence pricing and trend assumptions
  4. Support Pricing Strategy - Collaborate with actuarial pricing to explain base rate and pricing trends for the development of commercial group rate filings
  5. Strengthen Regulatory Justifications - Update and refine trend exhibits used to support filings with Departments of Insurance (DOIs)
  6. Innovate and Improve - Complete ad hoc projects that explore new methods such as AI/ML to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Passed 2 or more actuarial exams and pursuing ASA
  • 2+ years of actuarial experience
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic or higher level of proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL, Python, R, or SAS
  • Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven solid collaboration and team skills
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
