OptumRx CPS team is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning solutions powering our CPS Optimizer application. As one of the nation's largest providers of pharmacy services to over 800 hospitals and healthcare facilities, CPS leverages data and analytics to help clients address complex challenges in operational efficiency, drug cost containment, regulatory compliance, 340B optimization, and specialty pharmacy strategy. In this role, you'll collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product leaders to build scalable AI/ML models, optimize algorithms, and integrate predictive insights into production-grade systems. You'll play a key role in advancing CPS's proprietary technologies, enabling healthcare organizations to achieve measurable improvements in pharmacy performance, patient outcomes, and cost management through intelligent automation and data-driven decision support.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

8+ years of total data science/data analytics experience
3+ years of work experience in AI projects with deployment of AI based projects in production
3+ years of developing sophisticated ML models to create new data samples, patterns, or content based on existing data or inputs
3+ years of working with Azure/AWS services for AI/ML Projects (Databricks, AKS/EKS, ADF, Cognitive Services etc, Logic Apps, Power Automate etc.)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
