Production Controller: Positions in this function are responsible for end-to-end business process activities. Primarily supporting Infusion business partners in Pharmacy Operations, Nursing, and Intake, this role is responsible for creating, communicating, and driving efficiency across the business.

Primary Responsibilities:
As a Production Controller, you are responsible for:
- Manage balancing production and cost targets with business and SLA targets including Turn-Around -Time (TAT) and Need-By-Time (NBT) standards
- Assess and take action to correct areas/issues that inhibit the sites or the network in achieving all KPIs
- Assess, develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that contribute to overall business objectives
- Understand how to escalate issues by leading the right conversations and parties to derive solutions. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Site-state penetration
- TAT/NBT
- Productivity & Cost-To-Fill
- Daily site throughput
- Work-In-Progress (WIP) management
- Site allocation of workforce hours and optimal schedule structure
- Help facilitate daily forecast/planning meetings with Infusion team partners, Business Intelligence/Analytics (BIA) and Workforce Management (WFM) teams to ensure alignment on volume projections and script packed and shipped throughput of the network and prior day review of network and site performance
- Support execution and communication of large scale internal and external patient transition events
- Ensure efficient operations and strive to continually improve production levels through daily management. Examples include, but not limited to:
- Resource/staff distribution based on incoming workflow
- Operating shift and staffing plans
- Production rates and compensation planning
- Aged orders analysis and reduction
- Inventory availability within automated and manual stations (including min/max, bulk up, replenishment and receipt management)
- System parameter oversight to ensure efficient throughput of work within automation based on incoming order mix
- Site level production planning meetings with input to overall daily network meetings
- Continual process improvement initiatives
- Enable efficient utilization of technology systems through continual platform enhancements and improvements. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Pharmacy Software Product Support
- Provide product support for clinical assessments and documentation, including but not limited to Prescriber Order, Prescription, Supplies, Compound Record, and templates (covering medication profiles, progress notes, and demographics)
- Collaborate with the Clinical Services Team to develop and maintain tools used by pharmacists for prescription orders, dispensing, and clinical care of home infusion patients
- Ensure documents and templates comply with Federal and State board of pharmacy requirements, accreditation standards, and medication prescribing information
- Pharmacy Vendor Support
- Participate in the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance/enhancement of the pharmacy dispensing system.
- Work with business partners to identify and resolve current system gaps in collaboration with software vendor and Optum Infusion Capabilities
- Aim to increase pharmacist throughput by eliminating manual workarounds and reducing error potential, thereby enhancing the pharmacy software to improve patient outcomes
- Nursing Technology Product Support
- Provide product support, acting as a liaison between Nursing and Pharmacy to address documentation requirements and needs
- Optum Infusion Capabilities and Reporting Product Support
- Offer product support to ensure accurate data capture at appropriate steps in the pharmacy patient care processes, focusing on workflow efficiency, regulatory compliance, and accreditation
- Collaborate with peer Production Controllers on ways to drive continual improvement within the sites and network
- Explore reasons for sub-goal performance
- Draft plans, execute and monitor solutions

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of pharmacy experience in retail, mail-order, hospital or infusion
- 1+ years of experience in demand/forecast planning and production control of pharmacy or manufacturer fulfilment
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficient with computer and Windows PC applications with the ability to use multiple computer systems/applications including Microsoft Excel (create spreadsheets, sort/filter), Microsoft Outlook (compose/send email, basic navigation/function), and Microsoft Word (basic navigation/function, formatting)
- Willing or ability to up to 25% travel as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- PharmD, RN, or Pharmacy Technician
- Certifications - Six Sigma Black Belt
- 1+ years of experience analyzing and solving customer problems using data and business intelligence functions
- 1+ years of people leadership experience
- 1+ years of managing personnel via daily analytics of work production (WIP reporting)
- Experience with numerical reasoning and demand/forecast planning to drive financial accountability and outcomes
- Knowledge of ICD-9/10 and CPT codes
- Proven organizational design and change management experience
- Proven interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Proven ability to operate with a Growth Mindset and Vision and Strategy Formulation

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
