Optum Rx is seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Billing Analyst to join our Finance Operations team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate client invoices and supporting strategic financial initiatives across the organization. This Sr. Billing Analyst role will be responsible for completing day-to-day tasks related to PBM client billing. This role will be responsible for accurately and timely, based on contracts/supporting documentation, setting up invoicing configurations of new clients, changing invoicing configurations existing clients, adding elected services/product fees to clients' invoices. This role will peer review the work of others, ensuring accurate changes were made to the billing system. This role will collaborate with other Optum Rx operational areas working strategically to aid in achieving business and financial goals

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely client billing in accordance with contractual terms and supporting documentation
  • Configure and maintain invoice setups for new and existing clients, including elected services and product fees
  • Conduct peer reviews to validate billing system updates and ensure accuracy
  • Interpret contracts and documentation to support billing configurations and issue resolution
  • Generate manual invoices and reports as needed
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and client inquiries
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operational teams to support financial and business objectives
  • Participate in and support special projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of Billing experience
  • Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities, and achieving solutions under deadlines
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated self-starter with exceptional time management and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 1+ years of PBM Billing experience
  • Healthcare accounting experience
  • Experience in large matrix organizations
  • Experience using Oracle for financial transactions and reporting
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for workflow and issue tracking
  • Proficiency in using Power BI for data visualization and reporting

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $48,700 to $87,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
