Hourly Range: $40.76 USD to $77.55 USD

Job Description:

This position reports to the Charge Nurse, Department Director, and other designated supervisory staff on duty.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, working from 6:45am-5:15pm with mandatory scheduled call.

Extra Incentive: Up to $15,000 sign on bonus, subject to two-year Hospital Sign on Advance Agreement. (External candidates only.)

Essential Functions:

1. Performs assessment/data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
2. Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.
3. Identifies patient/significant other learning needs, readiness for learning, and implements patient teaching.
4. Documents in patient's chart, via electronic medical records and/or paper processes.
5. Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patient/significant other and family rights.
6. Demonstrates appropriate delegation of patient care activities.
7. Demonstrates effective organization and priority setting.
8. Demonstrates appropriate use of lines of authority.
9. May be required to function as a Charge Nurse.
10. Maintains professional growth and development.
11. Functions with awareness of/adherence to safety requirements.
12. Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures.
13. Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner.
14. Conducts self in a professional manner.
15. Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required, by management be handled.

Peri-Operative Unit

Surgery

1. ACLS (AHA Advanced Life Support) certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
2. PALS (AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or PEARS (AHA Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
3. Moderate sedation training to be completed within 6 months of hire.
4. CNOR certification preferred.

Total Joint Program Requirements and Expectations:

• Continuing Education Requirements
• 8 hours of orientation training
• 8 hours annual training
• Performance expectations
• Follow the pathway for total joint replacement dependent on area of specialty

Work Environment:

The individual in this position reports to the Nursing Department Director, House Supervisor, Charge Nurse, and other designated supervisory staff on duty. This position works closely with patients, physicians, and other clinicians in order to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.

Education & Experience:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• License: Current Washington State RN Licensure.
• Certification: HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred.

Physical Requirements:

1. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
2. Manual dexterity, light physical effort, ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. (supplies and equipment).
3. Physical strength to perform CPR (bed/floor), lift and push/pull 60 to 300 pounds (with assistance) as often as 20 times per 8 to 12 hours.
4. Keen mental faculties to perform assessment and decision-making skills.
5. Good reading eyesight.
6. Emotional stability.
7. Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills.
