Behavioral Health RN for Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Team

We are hiring Behavioral Health RN for our Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Team in Asheville. Meaningful work within a supportive team atmosphere. This position may be a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated crisis response, crisis stabilization interventions, and crisis prevention activities or services related to specialized populations that require intensive interventions. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the community by performing the duties listed in this job description. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve with limited direction and supervision.

$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Pay: $70,000 to $72,000 annually

Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm, flexible with some on-call responsibility

RHA's Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) offers a full range of support services to people with serious behavioral health needs who are also justice involved. ACTT promotes independence by teaching people coping skills needed to live in their own communities safely and productively, engaging them in normal daily routines and healthy social interactions. People receiving ACTT services often experience significant reductions in crisis situations such as homelessness, incarceration, or repeated hospitalizations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Following the supports and services as indicated in the recipients Crisis Plan, which is a component of all person centered plans
  • Conducting regular nursing assessments and developing action plans to address concerns
  • Coordination with healthcare providers
  • Managing medication systems and teaching medication adherence to individuals served
  • Participating as member of interdisciplinary team, attending Person Centered Plan (PCP) meetings
  • Monitoring health and psychiatric conditions of individuals served by team and taking appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications

Requirements

  • Active RN license. Bachelors of Nursing preferred.
  • Prefer one year of nursing experience.
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Valid drivers license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.

Pre-employment screening:

  • Complete criminal background
  • Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
