Provides direct care to individuals with psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders in a residential setting ensuring the safety and well-being of each resident. Supports the maintenance of the therapeutic environment, providing individual and group support as appropriate including meal preparation, childcare, transportation, and the general support of the residents. Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include: Requires graduation from a high school and two years' experience in health care work at the level of health care assistant or an associate of arts in mental health; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included: Regularly required to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to pull minimum of 25 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to talk and hear.
RHA Health Services is recruiting for a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Tech for the Mary Benson House. Mary Benson House is a home-like setting that provides 24-hour housing and substance abuse treatment for adult pregnant and/or parenting women and their children from birth to five years old. Our goal is to ensure that healthy babies are born while helping mothers move toward recovery and maintain a stable, sober, independent life with their children. MBH serves Western North Carolina. Last year we supported 24 individuals with residential treatment. To support the goals of the mothers the Treatment Tech provides direct care to individuals with psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders in a residential setting ensuring the safety and well being of each resident. Our Ideal Treatment specialist is caring, patient, and fair while supporting the therapeutic environment, providing individual and group support as appropriate including meal preparation, childcare, transportation, and the general support of the residents.
