We are hiring a Behavioral Health Specialist Crisis Treatment Specialist / Overnight – Neil Dobbins Center – Facility Based Crisis and Non-Hospital Detox

We offer a sign-on bonus of $500.00!

Pay rate: $17.00/hr

Bonus: $500 sign on bonus

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts weekly

The Position: Provides direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric disorders in the facility based crisis center; ensures the safety and well-being of each patient; supports the maintenance of the therapeutic environment.

Position Requirements: Provides brief support to individuals with Mental Health (MH) or Substance Abuse Issues. Focus is on crisis stabilization and case management in an inpatient setting. Interventions are strength-based and solution-focused on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and follow through on aftercare. Staff ratio takes into consideration evening and weekend hours on occasion. Relies on supervision and direction to provide quality services.

Responsibilities: Provide milieu management of the unit for individuals during their 5 to 7 day crisis stabilization; provide support to the RN/LPN on shift; support the admission and discharge process by cleaning individual rooms, shower and organizing individual's belongings; participate in monthly clinical supervision; follow the service plan for each individual; complete visual checks required and/or as needed; communicate professionally and effectively; work closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and provide feedback; complete timely and accurate documentation.

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include: High school or GED. Two years' experience in health care work at the level of health care assistant or an associate of arts in mental health; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience must be in the field of mental health. Life experience may be substituted for work experience at the discretion of the supervisor. 2 years' experience in a health care setting, some knowledge of addiction and recovery programs.

Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job include: Regularly required to lift 10 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. Must be able to pull minimum of 10 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to talk and hear.
