The Technology Development Program (TDP) internship at Optum includes a 10-week experience where you’ll gain invaluable experience working on some of our many domains, as well as mentoring from technology leaders, networking across the technology organization and collaboration opportunities. The program creates a cohort structure that provides a more personalized employment experience in turn creating community and increasing engagement beyond that of a traditional hire.
As an intern on our Optum Technology team, you will be provided opportunities to channel your curiosity into initiative, working alongside distinguished engineers and developers pursuing innovations that improve the health care experience for everyone. We encourage you to dive-in, explore and ask questions about creative ways to use technology to help make the health care system work like an actual system.
The intent of our internship program is to create a pipeline for future opportunities, including return internships or full-time employment at Optum, depending on eligibility, performance, and business needs.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
