Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Rounding and coordinating care of already admitted patients. Some shifts may have admitting responsibilities from the ER in the assigned hospital from 7am to 7pm
  2. Responding to ER calls and admitting patients in the assigned hospital(s) from 7pm to 7am (number of shifts can be decided amongst the team to ensure coverage every night)
  3. Stay in house for the duration of the shift. They will be responsible for all calls regarding admissions to the assigned hospital
  4. Support from the critical care physicians and subspecialists
  5. There is no requirement to perform any procedure
  6. Expected to efficiently manage patients in hospital and interact with specialists to coordinate the care
  7. Transition the follow up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively
  8. Participate in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD, DO)
  • Accredited Residency training
  • Licensed or willing to be licensed in the State of Texas
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency

The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $166,500 annually based on full-time employment. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
