Medical Assistant - Technician Medical Surgical – Multi-Specialty

In this role, you will:
Observe patient's condition, report abnormal conditions to staff nurse and records appropriate documentation in patient's records.
Measure and record patient height and weight, performs routine vision and hearing examinations, and takes pulse and blood pressure readings.
Draw blood from patients and/or performs finger sticks and obtains other specimens as requested by physician or registered nurse.
Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
Use technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings.
Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.
This is a full-time position. Schedule may vary 8am-6pm, late night and rotating Saturday coverage as needed. Located at 540 Gramatan Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY.
Required Criteria:
High School diploma or GED
Preferred Criteria:
Graduate of a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Associate Program
Certification as a Medical Assistant
1 + years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in an Internal Medicine practice.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
Salary Range: $31.60-$34.65/Hourly
