In this role, you will be working on a 24 bed acute care adult inpatient unit that specializes in the treatment of chronically and persistently mentally ill patients with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. On this mixed gender unit, you will work with patients with a wide range psychiatric diagnoses and co-morbidity. Our goal is to maximize the patient's potential for self-care, independence and quality of life. Now, you have the opportunity to join us.

This is a full time, 40hrs weekly three 12 hours day/evenings (7:00 am -11:30 pm including additional 8hrs shift bi-weekly) and rotating weekend (Sat+Sun) position at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital /Westchester Behavioral Health.

Preferred criteria:

• At least one year of RN experience and/or capstone or a senior clinical rotation with a preceptor
• Nursing Certification/s

Required criteria:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Current New York State RN license (or willingness to obtain)
• BCLS certification (AHA)
• Knowledge of nursing process: social, behavioral, biological and physical science
• Knowledge of current health care environment
• Knowledge of customer service principles
• Knowledge of effective interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of use of computer applications
• Ability to analyze patient care data to deliver and evaluate care
• New Grads must complete Nurse Residency Program
