The RN Radiation Oncology provides nursing care and patient education for the patient during radiation therapy treatment course. The RN Radiation Oncology will assist with IV therapy for CT simulation.

Licensing/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice (required) OCN Oncology Certified Nurse (preferred) ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy certified, or other chemotherapy certification (preferred) ONS Radiation Oncology Certification (preferred) CPR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (required)
Education: Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing (required) BSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred); required within five years of hire if working within RSFH
Work Experience: 2 years' previous Oncology experience (preferred)
Patient Population: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age, specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
