Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The RN Outpatient Wound Care performs and documents complete patient assessments, initiates and maintains current nursing care plans for all assigned patients, identifies patient learning needs to provide individualized and comprehensive teaching, administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures, and acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the Outpatient Wound Care department.

Licensing/Certification
Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact or RN applicant (required) BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) CWCN (Certified Wound Care Nurse) (preferred) COCN (Certified Ostomy Care Nurse) (preferred) CCCN (Certified Continence Care Nurse) (preferred) CWON (Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse) (preferred)
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required) Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred) Master of Science Nursing (preferred)
Work Experience
Recent experience in acute care and/or home health care (preferred) Experience in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (preferred)
Training
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred) Wound Care Centers that offer HBOT will need successful completion of Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) approved 40-hour course within 6 months of hire and completion of written exam (required)
