Critical Care Nurse

Provides direct nursing care as part of a team-based approach to patients needing rapid evaluation and response due to deteriorating or crisis conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Responds to RRT/code calls promptly.
• Assesses patient condition as observed and as reported by patient's nurse.
• Implements measures for immediate stabilization when necessary.
• Provides education and support to patient's assigned healthcare team for responding to same or similar circumstances.
• Carries out physician orders.
• Facilitates bedside procedures performed by physicians or other healthcare providers.
• Assists with performing or coordinating patient's transfer to a higher level of care when necessary.
• Quickly evaluates and communicates patient's responses to the physician(s) as appropriate.
