Lead, External Communications

The Corporate Communications team at Humana is responsible for monitoring, managing, and effectively communicating in support of Humana's strategic business priorities. The Lead role will support the CenterWell business including the individual lines of business across Primary Care, Home Health, and Pharmacy.

The role of Lead, External Communications, works on the development and execution of all corporate reputation/public relations campaigns and communication priorities in service of CenterWell and Humana's strategic priorities. This role works closely with the CenterWell business and Corporate Communications team to develop and orchestrate media and public relations activities and key communication initiatives for CenterWell at an enterprise and line of business level.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in public affairs, communications, or similar
  • Led and independently planned highly visible campaigns and execution on priority industry topics and strategic business priorities
  • Proactive and planned engagement with National Media, regional, social and relevant media outlets
  • Self-directed and motivated, with a strong work ethic and high integrity
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multitask and deliver quality work under pressure
  • Exceptional written communications skills and depth of experience in public affairs
  • Proactive, flexible, and always seeking improvement and positive change
  • Foster an open, inclusive, and diverse community at Humana
  • Demonstrated experience in using digital/social media to influence and engage
  • Bachelor or equivalent in communications, public policy, or relevant field
  • Strong planning and program management and ability to prioritize and effectively manage resources
  • Background in health care communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medicaid or Medicare experience

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: $115,200 - $158,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
