As part of Humana's Resolution Team, the Director of Grievances and Appeals is responsible for overseeing the management of Level 1 and Level 2 Medicare appeal processes within the organization. This role ensures compliance with Medicare regulations and strives to drive five-star performance for related CMS metrics.
The Resolution Team handles all complaints for Humana, including formal grievances, appeals, and inquiries escalated to our executives. Our mission is to resolve these complaints quickly, effectively, and with empathy. Additionally, our goal is to leverage insights to improve upstream processes and policies, ultimately reducing preventable appeals and providing an improved customer experience.
Leading a team of 5-10 direct reports and managing approximately 100-200 full-time employees, the Director drives operational excellence and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This position ensures all processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with regulatory requirements while collaborating with stakeholders to address issues and enhance member satisfaction.
Currently undergoing a transformation in people, process, and technology, the Resolution Team aims to enhance quality, timeliness, and the overall experience for our associates, members, and providers. As the Resolution Team Operations Director, you will be accountable for the day-to-day operations and performance of various complaint types handled by the team.

Pay range: The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $126,300 - $173,700 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
