The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships. Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there! The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! New Grads will also need to live within a reasonable commute distance of the facility they are hired into. Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members.

Benefits/Compensation:
This is a full time, benefitted, and paid position. Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. All New Grad RN positions are eligible for Banner Health's "Total Rewards Compensation Package", which includes Health/Dental/Vision insurance (if employee desires), PTO/Sick time accrual, 401K, and a long list of other benefits. Unit Description:
The Cardiothoracic PCU Unit (6EW) is a unit specializing in the care of adult post-surgical cardio-thoracic patients. In addition, the patient population consists of those recovering from the standard coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and valve replacements to the cutting edge minimally invasive robot assisted bypass and lung resection. Some of the surgical cases you will care for include those recovering from: heart and lung transplant, thoracotomy, major resections for cancer of the lungs and esophagus, Complex aortic surgery, including aortic dissection, Valvular heart surgery, endovascular repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) lobectomy for lung cancer and for resection of mesothelioma (extra pleural pneumonectomy). Staff on this unit have specialty training in the management of patients placed on the total artificial heart and left ventricular assist devices to treat end-stage heart failure. This program is Joint Commission Certified, and one of only a few in the state to offer this highly innovative treatment option. Patient care is achieved through teamwork from a dynamic group of highly skilled nurses and technicians and in conjunction with physicians from Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Vascular Surgery, and Oncology, licensed mid-level practitioners, case managers, social workers, and therapists to offer the latest in multidisciplinary care.
