Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Neuro and Trauma Progressive Care Telemetry Unit. As a PCU Registered Nurse on this dual specialty unit you will have the opportunity to care for a wide variety of patients. While 4 South specializes in high acuity Neuro and Trauma patients, you will also have the opportunity to see many other types of patients including multi system complex patients.
Our neuro population may include severe brain injuries, stroke, seizures, brain tumors, and pre/post op neuro surgery. This patient population is highly acute, many times with limited mobility, and requires a collaborative approach resulting in a strong team dedicated to our nurses success. Our unit displays excellent teamwork and unit culture!
On our unit, our nurses are self driven, and respond quickly to changes in the patient's condition. You will engage critical thinking, effective communication, teamwork, positive mindset, and and be able to overcome barriers and challenges by implementing evidence based practice and flexibility.
We are currently seeking experienced PCU Nurses, but at this time will also consider nurses that have Telemetry, ICU, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Medical/Surgical or any other acute or critical care background, and are eager to learn and develop their skills!
This is a full time day shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00am-7:30pm. including weekend and holiday rotation. You will have the opportunity to utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage, and also enjoy an additional flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential when applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
