This particular BSS assignment will help support the CVOR team at Banner Boswell Medical Center.
Monday-Friday 6:30A-5P with Thursdays off.
BLS and ACLS required.
12-18 months of recent CVOR RN experience in a hospital setting is required for BSS assignments.
Position summary:
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development.
This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
The cardiovascular operating room nurse is responsible for assisting physicians with advanced tasks or equipment during surgical procedures which include cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machine use, trans-esophageal echocardiogram studies, cardiac output assistive devices, and vascular access and interventions. The CVOR RN must have the ability to perform and interpret various cardiac and vascular lab tests.

Minimum qualifications:
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Minimum of one year RN experience in the operating room. New to service/new operating room nurses must complete the Perioperative Academy curriculum in addition to the Banner RN Perioperative Services Competency Tool within the first year.
Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred. One year of operating room and/or cardiovascular or vascular experience preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
