This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships.
Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there! The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! New Grads will also need to live within a reasonable commute distance of the facility they are hired into.
Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members.

Unit Overview:
Cardio Thoracic Surgical Step Down is a 32-bed surgical step-down unit that specializes primarily in Cardiothoracic surgical patients. We get a lot of exciting heart and thoracic patients and see a lot of chest tubes, external pacing and various surgeries. We are a clean unit, meaning no contact patients. Because our acuity tends to be higher due to our specific patient population, we are pleased to run at 3-4:1 nurse to patient ratios. On our Cardio Thoracic Surgical Stepdown unit you will work within a fun environment with a strong, cohesive team who work closely together to impact their own environment. There is a teamwork mindset, and we have a beautiful state of the art unit! We have a team that feels like family, achieved through our shared leadership model, and our nurses choose this highly sought after unit because of the people and leadership. There is a strong 'One Team' culture that is held to a high standard. This unit is ideal for those passionate about caring for higher acuity patients and is also a great way to transition to ICU. A currently Licensed RN New Grad RN is preferred for this role.
